ABOUT US

Bulloch Fertilizer’s products are designed to produce the highest quality turf possible. We custom manufacture Sur-Gro fertilizer in bulk and bags. We also carry greens grade fertilizer and soil amendments in bags or bulk. In addition to custom blending fertilizer, we also provide the following services: bulk application of fertilizer, gypsum and lime; seed application; custom pesticide application; and soil sampling and analysis.

OUR MISSION

Bulloch Fertilizer strongly believes in honesty, integrity and treating our customers the way we would like to be treated. We are proud to be small enough to provide service tailored to each individual customer’s needs, yet large enough to offer a wide range of products and services. Offering quality products at honest prices has always been a part of our success.

OUR HISTORY

1963

Bulloch Fertilizer was founded by Raybon Anderson in February of 1963.

1965

First liquid suspension fertilizer plant of its kind in Southeast Georgia.

1990

One of the first turf/golf spreader trucks was converted from an ag truck to be able to run on turf.

1993

In 1993, we moved into our new office building across the street from the plant.

1994

Construction of our current blending facility began in 1994.

1995

We began our bagging operation in 1995, starting with the ability to bag a truckload a day.

1996

In 1996, we added a smaller spreader truck designed for the turf/golf market to further service our customers.

1999

With our bagging growing, we needed more space to store bagged fertilizer. We began construction on our warehouse in 1999.

2005

In 2005, we opened the doors to
Anderson's General Store.

2020

In 2020, with the golf/turf market growing in Florida, we decided to add a 3rd golf/turf spreader truck to service the Florida market.

Bulloch Fertilizer Company, Inc. is a family-owned and operated business located in Statesboro. In 1963, Raybon Anderson founded the business to serve local farmers. From day one his goal was “to offer quality products with customer service second to none.”

In 1965, the company built the first liquid suspension fertilizer plant of its kind in Southeast Georgia and coined the Sur-Gro brand name. A retail store was also added, offering chemicals, seed, feed and farm supplies.

In the early 1990s we recognized the opportunity to serve the needs of the turf grass market, and we began blending and spreading fertilizer for area golf courses, sod farms and recreational facilities. In 1994 we built a state-of-the-art fertilizer blending facility to meet the needs’ of this growing market. The facility, featuring a 8,400 square foot (1500 ton storage) blend plant and a 17,000 sqft bag storage warehouse, allowed us to ship custom blends in bulk or bags to our customers.

To best serve our turf grass customers’ specific spreading needs, in 1996 we added to our fleet a smaller, lighter specialized truck with large flotation tires to prevent any tracking on the turf surface. By the end of the decade we had spread courses in, Georgia, Alabama, arid both North and South Carolina. We opened the doors to Anderson’s General Store in October of 2005. In 2007, we added a second spreader truck to better serve our customers needs. In the spring of 2020 we introduced a third golf course spreader to our fleet to accommodate the needs of the Florida market. In 2021, an addition to our bulk storage and mixing facility was completed to further increase our fertilizer mixing capacity.
